ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team improved their record to 4-0 after defeating Grace College 7-0 Friday (Feb. 14) afternoon at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club.
GVSU swept doubles action to claim the doubles point.
Lucas Gonzalez and
Victor Lopes earned a 6-2 win at the top doubles position.
Stephen Claassen and
Patricio Sepulveda tallied a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
Chimo Minguez and
Sebastian O'Byrne posted a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
The Lakers didn't drop a set in singles action to complete the 7-0 sweep over Grace College.
Denys Zamaraiev improved to 4-0 from the top singles position with a 7-6, 6-2 straight set win.
Lucas Gonzalez claimed a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
Ignasi Garros tallied a 7-5, 6-2 straight set at No. 3 singles.
Stephen Claassen posted a 6-4, 6-1 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
Lawrence Ivanov earned a 6-2, 6-3 straight set win at No. 5 singles.
Chimo Minguez added a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles.
The Lakers will close out this weekend's homestand on Saturday (Feb. 15) when they host Walsh at 5:00 PM at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club.
