Thursday's Senior Night will be a celebration of the careers of Avery Zeinstra, Molly Anderson, Nicole Kamin, Lexi Plitzuweit, and Paige VanStee, alongside Megan Crow and student manager Lauren Riley. Saturday, GVSU will raise their 2025 National Championship banner to the rafters and welcome back alumni.

The Lakers last played on Sunday, hosting Northwood in their home opener. GVSU came away victorious 81-56, moving to 6-0 this season. The nation's top-ranked team was led by a season-high 19 points from Nicole Kamin, who shot 7-11 from the floor, adding six boards and three steals. Avery Zeinstra buried four triples, finishing with 14 points, while Ava Scanlon recorded 10. MacKenzie Bisballe had eight rebounds, three blocks, and three steals helping her earn GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Lake Superior State is winless to begin the season, dropping all five contests this season, however, three of those losses were by single digits. LSSU is once again led by Grace Bradford, who is averaging 15.8 points and 10.2 rebounds a game, both top three marks in the league. Dara Capaldi and Clare Conzelmann are both averaging over 10 points a game as well. GVSU has won 21 straight games against LSSU, dating back to the 2011-12 season.

Saginaw Valley State has also struggled to begin the season, starting 1-4, winning their lone game over Drury. Two Cardinals are among the top scorers in the GLIAC, with Megan McCalla and Lydia Meredith both averaging over 12.5 points a game. The Cardinal defense holds their opponent to a league-low 35.9% shooting from the floor and just 25.6% from three. GVSU took both matchups over the Cardinals last season, extending their now eight-game winning streak.
