#1 GVSU Defeats Findlay In Road Matchup

FINDLAY, OHIO – Playing their final game before Thanksgiving break, the top-ranked Grand Valley State women's basketball team took care of business on the road at Findlay. The Lakers led wire-to-wire, cruising to a 92-57 victory and a 5-0 record.
 
Molly Anderson got things going with a three-pointer on the Lakers' opening possession, kickstarting a 12-0 run over the first 3:04 of the game. Findlay got back within single-digits at 14-5, but GVSU went on a 13-5 run to end the quarter. The run was capped off by a Lexi Plitzuweit three and a MacKenzie Bisballe layup just before the buzzer to put the Lakers up 27-9.
 
Another Laker triple started the second quarter, this one from Avery Zeinstra, one of her three in the quarter. The Grand Valley State lead grew to as much as 29 at 42-13 following a three from Anderson, but the Oilers outscored GVSU by 10 the rest of the quarter, making it 52-33 at the half.
 
The Oilers got as close as 15 points early in the third quarter, but would draw no closer, as Paige VanStee scored six straight Laker points, putting them back up by over 20 points. Anderson would drill another triple and Bisballe scored a late layup again helping GVSU to a 75-45 advantage after three quarters.
 
Grand Valley continued their hot shooting into the fourth quarter, making three triples over the final 10 minutes. The Lakers would end the game on a 13-3 run, getting five points from Madi Uyl, and threes from Sydney Cherney and Avery Lay, giving them their largest margin of victory this season.
 
Paige VanStee posted a team-high 19 points, hitting nine of her 13 shots, while also grabbing eight boards and adding four steals. MacKenzie Bisballe had 16 points and eight boards, while Molly Anderson scored 12 points. Ava Scanlon totaled seven points and three blocks. Nicole Kamin dished out six assists and Avery Lay recorded four steals.
