ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Grand Valley State women's volleyball team closed out their two-match homestand by hosting Parkside Saturday afternoon. Just as they did Friday night, the Lakers took care of business, recording another sweep. The win moves the 21
st ranked Lakers to 12-3 overall and 7-1 in the conference.
GVSU got the match victory by the scores of 25-20, 25-21, and 25-21. Parkside took an early set one lead, and getting up to a 14-11 edge. The Lakers answered with an 8-0 for their first lead since 1-0, up 19-11. The teams traded points for the rest of the set, but GVSU held off the Rangers for the set one win. The Rangers again held an early lead, up 6-5, and once again the Lakers went on a run to retake the lead, this time going on a 10-5 streak, going up 15-11. They added a 4-0 run late in the set to go up 23-17 and closed out the set from there. In set three, it was the Lakers taking the early lead, going up 6-2. Parkside kept chipping away, but they could never get closer than two points, as GVSU closed out the sweep.
Kendall Stover had a team-high 15 kills, giving her over 1,000 for her career. Stover tallied a .448 hitting percentage and had 13 digs.
Meghan O'Sullivan posted 18 assists, eight kills, five digs, and two service aces.
Kate Goudreau had seven kills and
Caroline Baker dished out 20 assists.
Olivia Behen recorded 12 digs from her libero spot.

The Lakers will travel to Hammond, Indiana next weekend for the Midwest Regional Crossover Tournament. They will play three games, with opponents still to be determined.
