BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's basketball team fell _____ at Ferris State Thursday (Jan. 9) night. The Lakers fall to 6-7 on the season and 2-3 in the GLIAC.
GVSU shot 30% from the field and 78% from the free throw line with 10 assists and six made three-pointers. Ferris State shot 43% from the field and 80% from the free throw line with 11 blocks 20 assists. Ferris State outrebounded GVSU 51-35 and the bulldogs hauled down 15 offensive rebounds. The Lakers forced the Bulldogs into 16 turnovers and swiped 11 steals.
Jalen Charity led the Lakers tying a career high 17 points on 6-13 shooting with five rebounds and three steals.
Mason Docks scored 13 points with three made three-pointers and four rebounds.
Shamus Thompson scored eight points and three rebounds, while
Trevon Gunter added seven points and three steals.
Ethan Erickson led Ferris State with 19 points on 5-15 shooting with three made three-pointers. Mykel Bingham scored 16 points and brought down nine rebounds. Nathan Claerbaut had nine points, eight rebounds, and eight blocks.
The Lakers will close out the week at Lake Superior State on Saturday, January 11
