SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's basketball team fell 87-78 to #10 Lake Superior State on the road Saturday (Jan. 11) night. The Lakers move to 6-8 overall and 2-4 in the GLIAC this season.
GVSU shot 40% from the field and 35% from three. GVSU also shot 13-16 from the free throw line for a 13-16 clip. LSSU shot 55% from the field and 48% from three. LSSU outrebounded GVSU 39-33, while GVSU hauled down 13 offensive rebounds to Lake Superior State's 11 offensive boards.
Mason Docks led the Lakers with 15 points shooting 6-11 from the field and 1-2 from three.
William Dunn notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Dunn shot 5-7 from the field and 2-4 from three.
Jalen Charity scored 13 points on 4-8 shooting with two made three-pointers.
Kaden Brown added 12 points and led the Lakers with three assists.
Lake Superior State was led by Tyson Edmondson who scored 19 points on 7-13 shootign from the field with four made three-pointers. Kingsley Perkins notched 18 points on 8-10 shooting with seven rebounds and four assists. Devin Womack scored 16 points on 5-10 shooting with a game high six assists and five rebounds.
GVSU will take on Davenport next week on the road for the crosstown showdown on Thursday, January 16
