EMPORIA, KANSAS – After day two of the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, Grand Valley State finds themselves in third and fifth place. The Lady Lakers currently sit in third place with a team score of 23.5 points, while the men are in fifth place with a total 23 points. 
Day Two Results
 
The men's high jump trio continued their successful season this year as the finished in first, third and sixth overall, raking in 19 points total for the team. 
Jaivon Harrison claimed the high jump title for the 2024 outdoor season, clearing a height of 2.22m. Harrison now holds two National titles under his belt within his first season at Grand Valley State. 
Jonathan Rankins-James finished in third place for the Lakers clearing a height of 2.16m, followed by 
Eli Kosiba in sixth with a height of 2.08m. 
In the men's steeplechase, 
Caleb Futter went all out on the final lap as he moved up four spots within the last lap. Futter finished in fifth place, recording a time of 8:43.60 and bringing in an additionally four points for the Lakers. 
On the women's side, 
Erika Beistle claimed her second National title this season, as she earned the crown in the discus throwing a distance of 55.38m. 
Margaret Stevenson finished in third place for Grand Valley State, recording a throw of 52.01m. The women's throws team tallied in 16 points for the Lakers on day two.
On the track, the men's 4x400m consisting of 
Steven Harris, 
Zach Pray, 
Fallou Gaye and 
Myles Rhodes sneaked by in the prelims on day two recording a time of 3:09.33, in order to advance to the finals tomorrow at 5:50 p.m. (CT). 
The Lakers first event on the final day of the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships will begin at 10:30 a.m. (CT) with the men's javelin.
