Grand Valley State dropped a 6-5 decision at Davenport in GLIAC baseball Wednesday night. The Lakers will hit the road for four more GLIAC road games at Saginaw Valley State starting Friday with a doubleheader at 1 p.m.
Davenport scored two runs in the bottom of the second on a pair of hits and a Laker error, but would not score again until the bottom of the eighth. The Lakers pushed across a single run in the top of the fourth when LF
Ryan Dykstra bunted down the third base line when Davenport had the infield shaded to the right side. Dykstra advanced to second on a groundout and scored on a 2-out single to right off the bat of 3B
Jonas Gulbrandsen. The Lakers tied the game in the top of the eighth when CF
Ayden VanEnkevort tripled with two outs and Dykstra followed with an RBI double.
Davenport took a 5-2 lead with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the eighth, but the Lakers answered with three runs in the top of the ninth with two outs. C

Logan Anderson and DH Connor McCormack all walked. 2B
Jake Rydquist was hit by a pitch to plate Guciardo, VanEnkevort walked to score Anderson and Dykstra was hit by a pitch to score McCormack.
The Panthers scored an unearned run in the bottom of the ninth to pick up the win.
Dykstra was 2-4 with two RBI and run scored, while Gulbrandsen was also 2-4 with an RBI. VanEnkevort tripled, scored a run and drove in a run. Anderson and McCormack each recorded a hit.
Allan Thorington went the first four innings, yielding two runs, one earned, on three hits with two strikeouts.
Owen Avery went three innings, giving up one run on two hits with four strikeouts.
