IRVINE, Calif. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team fell in the final match of their California road trip to Concordia Irvine Thursday (Mar. 7) afternoon. The Lakers drop to 5-6 on the season.
Concordia Irvine claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. In singles action,
Anna Soteras claimed a 6-2, 6-4 straight set win at No. 3 singles. Vale mozas tallied a 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 three-set win at No. 5 singles.
Estefania Hernandez added a 6-2, 6-1 straight set win at No. 6 singles.
Rachel Sam dropped a tough 6-4, 2-6, 2-6 three-set decision at No. 4 singles.
Taylor Barrett fell 3-6, 1-6 at No. 2 singles.
Vasileia Griva dropped a 0-6, 2-6 decision at the top singles position.
The Lakers will be back on the court on March 22
nd when they begin GLIAC conference play at Purdue Northwest. First serve is set for 11:00 AM in Hammond, Indiana.
