LA MIRADA, Calif. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision at Biola Tuesday (Mar. 5) afternoon in California. The Lakers fall to 5-5 on the season.
Biola claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Estefania Hernandez and
Vale Mozas tallied a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
Taylor Barrett and
Anna Soteras dropped a 3-6 decision at the top doubles position.
Vasileia Griva and
Rachel Sam dropped a 3-6 decision at No. 2 doubles.
In singles action,
Taylor Barrett claimed a 6-0, 4-6, 7-6 three-set win at No. 2 singles.
Anna Soteras recorded a 6-2, 6-2 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
Vale Mozas added a 6-4, 7-6 straight set win at No. 6 singles.
Vasileia Griva dropped a tough 3-6, 6-3, 4-6 three-set decision at the top singles position.
Rachel Sam lost a tough 5-7, 5-7 decision at No. 3 singles.
Estefania Hernandez fell 2-6, 2-6 at No. 5 singles.
The Lakers will close out their trip to California on Thursday (Mar. 7) when they travel to face Concordia Irvine. First serve is set for 4:00 PM ET.
