Women’s Tennis Falls 4-3 to Azusa Pacific Monday

AZUSA, Calif. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team traveled out to California and dropped a 4-3 decision to Azusa Pacific Monday (Mar. 4) afternoon. The Lakers fall to 5-4 on the season.
 
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Vasileia Griva and Rachel Sam claimed a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles. Estefania Hernandez and Vale Mozas tallied a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles. 
 
In singles action, Rachel Sam claimed a 6-4, 6-4 straight set win at No. 3 singles. Anna Soteras recorded a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles. Neus Ramos dropped a tough 4-6, 6-4, 4-6 three-set decision at No. 5 singles. Estefania Hernandez dropped a tough 1-6, 6-2, 2-6 three-set decision at No. 6 singles. Vasileia Griva and Taylor Barrett both dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. 
 
The Lakers will be back on the courts tomorrow (Mar. 5) when they travel to take on Biola in La Mirada, California. First serve is set for 4:00 PM ET.
