ALLENDALE - The Grand Valley State men's tennis team won their fifth consecutive match after a 7-0 shutout victory over Northwood Saturday (Feb. 24) evening. The Lakers improve to 6-3 on the season.
GVSU claimed the doubles point after sweeping doubles action.
Sean Miller and
Freddy Cossio claimed a 6-3 win at the top doubles position.
Chimo Minguez and
Jorge Ruiz tallied a 6-3 win at No, 2 doubles.
Stephen Claassen and
Lawrence Ivanov added a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action,
Denys Zamaraiev claimed a 6-1, 6-4 straight set win at the top singles position.
Sean Miller tallied a 6-2, 6-0 straight set win at No. 2 singles.
Chimo Minguez posted a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles.
Stephen Claassen added a 6-2, 6-1 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
Ignasi Garros claimed a 6-2, 6-1 straight set win at No. 5 singles, while
Freddy Cossio tallied a 6-4, 6-2 straight set win at No. 6 singles.Â
