UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's basketball fell 78-62 at Saginaw Valley State Saturday (Feb. 10) afternoon. The Lakers fall to 6-6 in the GLIAC and 9-13 overall.
 
Mason Docks led the Lakers in scoring with 18 points. Docks knocked down three 3-pointers and went a perfect 3-3 from the free throw line. Ethan Alderink scored 15 points on 6-14 shooting and went a perfect 3-3 from three-point range. Alderink also brought down six rebounds. Trevor Smith and Trevon Gunter each added seven points. Jalen Charity led the Lakers in rebounding with seven.
 
The Lakers shot 33.9% from the field and 40% from behind the arc. GVSU went 12-16 from the free throw line for 75%. Saginaw Valley State outrebounded GVSU 40-30, but the Lakers held a 16-12 offensive rebound advantage. SVSU shot 50% from the field and 47% from three. The Cardinals went 20-21 from the free throw line for 95%.
 
The Lakers will be back on the road next week when they travel to Kenosha, Wisconsin to tface Parkside on Thursday (Feb. 15) at 8:30 PM ET. GVSU will then travel to Hammond, Indiana to face Purdue Northwest on Saturday (Feb. 17) at 4:00 PM ET.
