• #4 Grand Valley State will hit the road for a GLIAC matchup at Michigan Tech Saturday, Nov. 9. Kickoff is set for 12 noon. The Lakers enter the road trip 8-1 overall and 4-1 in GLIAC action, while the Huskies are 6-3 and 3-2 in GLIAC action. THE SERIES
Grand Valley State leads the all-time series by a 32-4 margin. The Lakers claimed 44-13 victory over the Huskies a year ago in Allendale, and a 42-7 victory over the Huskies in Houghton in 2022. The Lakers have won eight consecutive in the series and are 27-2 versus MTU since 1985. The Lakers have scored 40 or more points 13 times in the last 20 games and 20 times overall versus the Huskies.

• The GVSU defense did not allow Northern Michigan to complete one pass last Saturday (Oct. 12). It marked the first time in Laker football history that an opponent did not complete a pass.
• GVSU rushed for five touchdowns versus Northern Michigan.
• The GVSU defense recorded eight QB sacks (-43) and 15 tackles for loss (-55) vs. West Florida. The eight QB sacks ranks third in a single game.
• The 58 points scored tied the program record for points scored in a season-opening game (58-16 at St. Joseph's College in 1990) and the 58-point margin broke the previous record of 56 (56-0 vs. Minnesota Crookston in 2001) for margin of victory in a season-opening game.
• Grand Valley State shutout Central State in the season-opening game (58-0), marking the first time in Laker football history that GVSU has shutout opponents in back-to-back games regular season games at Lubbers Stadium (Davenport 30-0, 2023).
• GVSU rushed for 546 yards in the season-opening game, three yards shy of the single-game, school record (549/1974 Findlay).

• Sophomore QB
Vinnie Meschi was named the GLIAC Player of the Week in his first collegiate start. Meschi completed 8-of-14 passes for 200 yards and two TDs in first half.

Anthony Cardamone was named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week following his 11 tackle, 2.0 TFL and 1.0 QB sack outing at Saginaw Valley State.
• Freshman punter
Evan Sundermann was named the GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance at SVSU. Sundermann averaged 45.6 ypg, dropped two at the Cardinal 1 yard line, two more inside the 20 with a long of 58 yards.
• Sophomore WR
Kellen Reed was named the GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week after returning the opening kickoff 92 for a TD vs. Northern Michigan. Reed added another KO return for a TD that was called back due to a penalty and he was credidted with 32 yards.

Khalil Eichelberger was named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 129 yards and two TDs on 15 carries vs. #20 West Florida.

Trace Hrgich was named the GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance at CSU-Pueblo. Hrgich averaged 46.5 yards on eight punts, dropping four inside the 20 yard line and two inside the 10 yard line. Hrgich ranks eighth in the country.

Josh Schell set a record record for pass deflections in a game with four vs. Wayne State.
