INDIANAPOLIS – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team competed in the ITA Regional Championships this past weekend in Indianapolis.
 
Rachel Sam and Estefania Hernandez won their first four matches in the top doubles bracket to advance to the Flight A doubles championship match. The pair earned a runner-up finish after falling in a three-set tiebreaker in the final match. 
 
On the singles side, Amanda Diaz won her first four matches all in straight sets to advance to the semifinals of the Flight B singles draw. Vasileia Griva and Anna Soteras won two matches to advance to the Round of 16 in the Flight A singles draw. 
 
The Lakers will return to the courts for their lone match of the fall season on Friday, October 6 when they host Aquinas at the GVSU Tennis Courts at 12:00 PM.
