ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision against Ferris State Saturday (April 8) at the GVSU Tennis Courts. The Lakers fall to 10-7 on the season and 2-2 in the GLIAC.
Ferris State claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Unai Gonzalez and
Sean Miller claimed a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles.
Freddy Cossio and
Jack Dausman fell 2-6 at No. 2 doubles.
Martin Matov and
Ignasi Garros dropped a tough 6-7 decision losing the tiebreaker 11-9.
On the singles side,
Sebastian Arce claimed a 6-4, 2-6, 5-1 three-set win at No. 3 singles.
Ignacio Morera-Lucas earned a 4-6, 6-3, 10-3 win at No. 5 singles.
Unai Gonzalez dropped a tough 1-6, 5-7 decision at No. 1 singles.
Sean Miller dropped a tough 6-7, 6-2, 1-6 three-set decision at No. 2 singles.
Denys Zamaraiev fell 3-6, 3-6 and
Martin Matov dropped a tough 6-3, 3-6, 5-10 three-set decision at No. 6 singles.
The Lakers will conclude the regular season on the road next weekend when they travel to the Upper Peninsula to face Michigan Tech on Thursday (April 13) at 2:00 PM and Lake Superior State on Saturday (April 15) at 2:00 PM.
