HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team started off their road trip in the Upper Peninsula with a 6-1 win at Michigan Tech Thursday (April 13) afternoon. The Lakers improve to 11-7 on the season.
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Unai Gonzalez and
Sean Miller earned a 7-6 win at No. 1 doubles to improve to 10-5 on the season as a pair.
Freddy Cossio and
Sebastian Arce tallied a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
On the singles side,
Unai Gonzalez claimed a 6-3, 6-3 straight set win at No. 1 singles.
Sebastian Arce earned a 1-6, 6-2, 6-1 three-set win at No. 2 singles.
Jack Dausman tallied a 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 three-set win at No. 4 singles to improve to 8-4 in singles action this season.
Ignacio Morera-Lucas improved to 11-2 in singles action on the season after claiming a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 three-set win at No. 5 singles.
Freddy Cossio added a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
The Lakers will close out the regular season at Lake Superior State on Saturday (April 15) in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. First serve is set for 2:00 PM.
