AUGUSTA, MICH. – Postseason play arrived for the GVSU men's golf team, and the Lakers continued to play well, taking home the win in the GLIAC Stroke Play Championship, shooting 19 under to win by 10 strokes. The win moves the Lakers on to tomorrow's Medal Match Play Championship where they will be the one seed.

GVSU shot rounds of 276 (-8) and 273 (-11) to win the stroke play championship by 10 strokes at -19. The Lakers rounds were the two lowest rounds shot throughout the entire tournament by either team. The other three teams moving on to tomorrow's match play semifinals are second place Wayne State, who shot a -9, and Ferris State and Purdue Northwest who tied for third at five over.
Charles DeLong placed second after rounds of 68 and 65 to finish at -9. DeLong sank five birdies in round one and seven more in round two.
Drew Coble came in tie for third at five under, shooting rounds of 71 and 66. Coble had four first round birdies, then seven in round two.
Nick Krueger sank eight birdies and an eagle over his two rounds of 68 and 72 to finish tied for seventh at two under.
Bryce Wheeler was tied for tenth at one under, carding rounds of 69 and 72, sinking four birdies in round one and two more in round two. After rounds of 72 and 70 in which he recorded a combined seven birdies,
Charlie Cooley shot even par for the day and finished in a tie for 12
th.
The Lakers will tee off at 9:00 am tomorrow morning as they face Purdue Northwest in the Semifinal round.
