NOBLESVILLE, IND. – The Grand Valley State men's golf team used a strong second round of play to climb into a tie for first-place after round two of the Ken Partridge Invitational.
GVSU shot a second round score of 278 (-10) to catch up to UMSL and tie them in first-place after day two, as the two teams sit at nine under. In third place is Tiffin at +12, followed by Findlay (+13) in fourth, and UIndy (+18) in fifth.
Charles DeLong shot a round of 70 (-2) and is just two strokes back of lead after carding four birdies today and is at -7 for the tournament.
Nick Krueger had a good day, shooting a 68 (-4) to jump into fourth at -2 overall, as he had seven birdies, including four within the opening six holes.
Charlie Cooley shot a round of 71 (-1) with seven birdies, ending his round with four in the final six holes, and is tied for fifth at one under.
Drew Coble carded a round of 69 (-3) today to move into a tie for 11
th at +1, after tallying two birdies and an eagle. After a second round score of 71 (-1),
Bryce Wheeler is tied for 31
st at +7, as he had five birdies today. Individual
Alex Jordan is tied for 29
th at +6, carding a score of even par 72 today, sinking two birdies and an eagle.
The Lakers close out the tournament tomorrow with the final round of play. They are scheduled to tee off starting at 11:00.
