SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision against #4 Saint Leo Thursday (March 9). The Lakers fall to 6-4 on the season, while Saint Leo improves to 10-1. 
 
Saint Leo swept doubles action to claim the doubles point. On the singles side, Taylor Barrett earned a 0-6, 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles. Barrett claimed her sixth singles victory of the season and fourth at the second position. Rachel Sam dropped a tough 3-6, 6-2, 5-7 decision at No. 3 singles. Anna Soteras dropped a tough 2-6, 5-7 decision at No. 4 singles, while Amanda Diaz dropped a tough 2-6, 5-7 decision at No. 4 singles. 
 
The Lakers will close out their spring trip in the sunshine state tomorrow (March 10) when they travel to Lakeland, Florida for a dual match against St. Petersburg College. First serve is set for 3:00 PM.
