CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Grand Valley State men's golf team teed off in their second tournament of the spring season, and after the first two rounds, they are in a familiar place, on top of the leaderboard.
The Lakers lead by 10 strokes after 36 holes, carding rounds of 292 and 285 to shoot one over thus far. Flagler is in second at +11, followed by host Wingate at +12, Lenoir-Rhyne in fourth at thirteen over, and Shorter a stroke behind them in fifth.
Charles DeLong is in second-place, one stroke behind the leader, shooting rounds of 69 and 69, and sits at six under. DeLong carded six birdies and an eagle in round one and had four more birdies in the second round.
Nick Krueger is in a tie for sixth after the first day, shooting rounds of 73 and 70 to have a score of -1. Krueger had nine birdies and an eagle today.
Bryce Wheeler is tied for 11
th at +1, sinking eight birdies for rounds of 74 and 71.
Drew Coble had three birdies to finish out rounds of 76 and 75 and is in a tie for 37
th. After a day with five birdies,
Charlie Cooley is tied for 52nd, shooting rounds of 78 and 77.
The Lakers will finish out the Ralph Hargett Invitational tomorrow with the final round of play.
