ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision against Tiffin Friday (March 17) afternoon at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club. The Lakers fall to 8-5 on the season, while Tiffin improves to 10-1.
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at no. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Jack Dausman and
Freddy Cossio earned a 6-4 decision at No. 2 doubles.
Martin Matov and
Ignasi Garros tallied a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
Unai Gonzalez and
Sean Miller dropped a tough 3-6 decision at No. 1 doubles.
On the singles side, freshman
Denys Zamaraiev claimed a 7-5, 6-4 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
Ignacio Morera-Lucas earned a 6-2, 6-3 straight set win at No. 6 singles.
Unai Gonzalez dropped a tough 4-6, 6-4, 3-6 three-set decision at No. 1 singles.
Sean Miller dropped a tough 6-7, 7-5, 0-6 three-set decision at No. 2 singles.
Martin Matov dropped a tough 7-5, 6-7, 3-6 three-set decision at No. 3 singles.
The Lakers return to the courts next weekend on Saturday, March 25 when they host Wayne State at 5:00 PM at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club.
