LAKELAND, Fla. – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team fell to Florida Southern 5-2 Friday (March 10) at Wynee Warden Tennis Center in Lakeland, Florida. The Lakers drop to 8-4 on the season, while Florida Southern improves to 9-3.
Florida Southern claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Ignasi Garros and
Martin Matov earned a 7-5 win at No. 3 doubles.
Unai Gonzalez and
Sean Miller dropped a tough 5-7 decision at No. 1 doubles.
Freddy Cossio and
Jack Dausman dropped a tough 6-4 decision at No. 2 doubles.
On the singles side,
Unai Gonzalez claimed a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.
Martin Matove tallied a 76-, 6-3 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
Sean Miller dropped a tough 6-4, 3-6, 4-6 three set decision at No. 2 singles.
Ignacio Morera-Lucas dropped a tough 2-6, 6-1, 5-7 decision at No. 6 singles.
The Lakers will return home on Friday, March 10 when they host Tiffin at 12:00 PM at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club.
