GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's tennis opened the 2023 spring schedule Saturday (Feb. 4) against #7 Indianapolis at the MVP Athletic Club. The Lakers dropped a 7-0 decision and fall to 2-1 on the season, while Indianapolis improves to 2-0.
Indianapolis claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 doubles.
Jack Dausman and
Freddy Cossio dropped a tough 3-6 decision at No. 2 doubles.
Sebastian Arce and
Patricio Sepulveda dropped a tough 5-7 decision at No. 3 doubles. On the singles side,
Unai Gonzalez dropped a tough 3-6, 4-6 decision at No. 2 singles.
Martin Matov lost a tough 6-7, 4-6 decision at No. 4 singles.
The Lakers will return to the courts next weekend when they host Walsh on Friday (Feb. 10) at 12:00 PM and Findlay on Sunday (Feb. 12) 10:00 AM. Both matches will be played at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club.
