GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team claimed their sixth straight win by defeating Hillsdale 5-2 Friday (Feb. 25) evening at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club. The Lakers improve to 8-1 on the season, while Hillsdale drops to 6-2.
GVSU swept doubles action to claim the doubles point.
Unai Gonzalez and
Sean Miller claimed a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles.
Jack Dausman and
Freddy Cossio tallied a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles, improving to 6-1 on the season in doubles action as a pair.
Sebastian Arce and
Patricio Sepulveda earned a 7-5 win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play,
Sebastian Arce claimed a 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 three-set win at No. 2 singles.
Jack Dausman improved to 6-0 on the season in singles action with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 three-set win at No. 3 singles.
Martin Matov tallied a 6-3, 6-4 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
Denys Zamaraiev earned a 7-5, 2-6, 10-5 three-set win at No. 6 singles.
The Lakers return to the courts when they travel to Florida for three matches beginning on March 6 in Daytona Beach against Embry-Riddle. GVSU will then travel to Saint Leo and Lakeland for matches against Saint Leo on March 9 and Southern Florida on March 10.
