PLAINFIELD, Ill – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team improved their win streak to four matches with a 6-1 win over Lewis Saturday (Feb. 18) evening. The Lakers improved to 6-1 on the season.
The swept doubles play to claim the point at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 doubles.
Unai Gonzalez and
Sean Miller claimed a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles.
Jack Dausman and
Freddy Cossio earned a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.
Sebastian Arce and
Patricio Sepulveda tallied a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
On the singles side,
Unai Gonzalez claimed a 7-6, 3-6, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles.
Sebastian Arce earned a 6-2, 6-4 straight set win at No. 2 singles.
Martin Matov, tallied a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles.
Denys Zamaraiev claimed a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles, while
Ignacio Morera-Lucas earned a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles.
The Lakers return to the courts next weekend (Feb. 24) at Midland, Mich. for a non-conference dual match against Northwood.
