NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Grand Valley State men's basketball team dropped their final game of the opening weekend 86-75 at Walsh Saturday (Nov. 11) night. The Lakers fall to 0-2, while Walsh improves to 1-0.

Marius Grazulis and redshirt junior
Trevon Gunter led the Lakers with 20 points each. Grazulis pulled down nine rebounds and blocked three shots while shooting 10-19 from the field. Gunter shot 7-12 from the field including going 6-10 from three. Redhsirt junior
William Dunn added 11 points with six boards on 5-9 shooting with one three.
Walsh knocked down 13 three pointers in the first half including seven in the first eight minutes to jump out to a 25-11 lead. The Cavaliers would later increase the lead to 16 with four minutes left and would go into the break up 15 after
William Dunn scored a layup as time expired.
The Lakers battled in the second half and was able to cut the deficit to single digits in just five minutes off a three by
Britain Harris.
Trevon Gunter would hit back-to-back threes to pull the Lakers within four. Gunter would hit another three to bring GVSU within three with just under 12 minutes left.
Both teams would exchange buckets half through the half, but the Lakers wouldn't go away and made it a one point off a mid-range jumper by
Marius Grazulis with five minutes left. Walsh would respond and pushed their lead to eight with under two minutes left and hold off the final push by the Lakers.
