THE SERIES
Grand Valley State leads the all-time series by a 36-6 margin. The Lakers claimed the 2021 matchup in Detroit by a 62-13 score. After 30 straight wins in the series by GVSU, WSU won the 2019 meeting 31-17 margin. GVSU is 17-3 at Lubbers Stadium and 19-3 at Wayne State. The average margin of victory in the last 32 games for the Lakers is 38.7-13.8 and GVSU has scored 40 or more points 12 times and held WSU to 10 points or less 11 times.

• Senior RB Jack Provencher has rushed for 92 yards on 15 carries and is averaging 6.1 yards per carry. Provencher has rushed for 990 yards and 14 TDs in his career. He needs 10 rushing yards to become the 40th player in GVSU football history to reach the 1,000-yard rushing plateau.   

• Sophomore WR Jahdae Walker leads GVSU in receptions (11) and receiving yards 271 yards (24.6 ypc). Walker is averaging 90.3 yards receiving per game.   

• Senior WR Jacob Miller has caught three passes for 42 yards this season and has caught 45 passes for 590 yards and seven TDs in his career.

• Sophomore WR Cody Tierney ranks second in receptions (10) and yards (115) this season. Tierney has 44 career receptions for 526 yards and two TDs. 

• Sophomore WR Kyle Nott has two carries for 24 yards and a TD, while catching one pass for 11 yards. Nott is averaging 17.4 yards per touch in his career. 

• Redshirt freshman punter Trace Hrgich is averaging 44.5 yards per punt with a long of 53 yards. Hrgich also dropped two punts inside the opponents 20 yard line. 

• Sophomore PK Kollin Kralapp hit a career-long 40-yard field goal versus Lincoln and converted all nine of his point after attempts...Named the GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week...Kralapp is 2-for-2 this season and 4-for-4 in his career in field goals...16-for-16 in PATs.

• Junior LB Abe Swanson leads GVSU in tackles with 21 in three games this season. Swanson has 147 career tackles, 11.5 TFL (-55), 4.5 QB sacks (-25) and two interceptions in his career. 

• Senior safety Antonio Strong has tallied seven stops in 2022. Strong has 113 tackles, four interceptions, six PBU's and three forced fumbles in his career.

• Junior DE Christian McCarroll has four tackles, 1.0 TFL (-1) and four QB hurries in 2022. McCarroll has 61 tackles, 6.0 TFL (-16) and 3.0 QB sacks (-11) in his career. 

• Junior DE Colton Hyble has recorded eight tackles, 1.5 TFL (-4) and .5 QB sacks (.5) this season. Hyble has 42 tackles and 7.5 TFL (-17) in his career. 

• Junior DT Seth Hoonhorst has five tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 QB sacks this season. Hoonhorst tallied four tackles, 1.0 QB sacks (-8) and 1.5 TFL (-8) versus Mines and has recorded 42 tackles, 7.0 TFL and 2.0 QB sacks in his career. 

• Sophomore DT Jack Gilchrist has 11 tackles, 1.0 tackles for loss (-3) and 1.5 QB sacks (-4) this season. Gilchrist has 35 career tackles, 5.5 TFL (-26), 3.5 QB sacks (-24) in his career. 

• Senior DT Nate Umlor has four tackles, 1.5 QB sacks (-2), 1.5 TFL, one pass break up and one QB hurry. Umlor has 24 stops 2.0 TFL and 2.0 QB sacks in his career. 

• Sophomore SS Ian Kennelly has seven tackles, one fumble recovery and a forced fumble this season. Kennelly tallied six tackles, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble vs. Mines. Ian has 40 tackles, four pass breakups, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries in his career. 

• Redshirt freshman Jay'viar Suggs recorded four tackles, 2.0 QB sacks (-9), 2.0 TFL (-9), three pass break ups and forced a fumble in his first collegiate game vs. Mines. 

• Sophomore SS Damonte McCurdy has recorded 10 tackles, picked off one pass and has three pass breakups this season...McCurdy has 65 tackles, 4.5 TFL and two INTs in his career.  

• Redshirt freshman CB Terez Reid has nine tackles and .5 TFL (-1). 

• LB Jake Archbold ranks second on the squad in tackles with 12, while also recording 1.0 TFL (-4) and .5 QB sacks (-2) in 2022. 

• Sophomore CB Nyzier Fourqurean has seven stops and one pass breakup this season. 

• Senior LB Damon Wesley has eight tackles and a QB hurry this season...Wesley has 65 stops and 3.0 TFL in his career. 

GVSU Team Notes...

• CSU-Pueblo rushed for 75 yards on 19 attempts, 71 of which came on two rushes. The Thunderwolves rushed for four yards on 17 carries.

• CSU-Pueblo tallied 221 yards on 52 plays (4.2 ypp) versus GVSU, 105 of which came on three plays (71 rush/34 pass). The Lakers limited the Thunderwolves to 116 yards on 49 plays (2.3 ypp). 
• 4 drives resulted in negative yards.
• 9 drives resulted in 12 yards or less.
• 10 drives were four plays or less.
