#4 Grand Valley State used a dominating run game and suffocating defense to claim an impressive 35-10 road win at #21 Colorado State-Pueblo. The Lakers, who improve to 2-0 on the year versus the top two teams in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, will host Lincoln (Calif) in the annual Family Day contest next Saturday (Sept. 17) at Lubbers Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Cade Peterson finished with a 2-yard TD run. The Timberwolves scored their only touchdown of the game to pull within four (14-10), but GVSU answered once again with an 11-play, 72-yard scoring drive that Sophomore QB
Avery Moore finished with a 3-yard TD run to give the Lakers a 21-10 halftime lead. Junior RB
Tariq Reid added two second half TD runs that capped drives of 66 and 60-yards.
The Laker defense limited Colorado State-Pueblo to 221 total yards, including just 75 on the ground. GVSU tallied 5.0 QB sacks (-15), 8.0 (-24) tackles for loss, forced three turnovers, recorded eight QB hurries and notched five pass break ups. Junior All-American LB
