GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Valley State women's tennis team defeated Davenport, 6-1 on Saturday to improve their winning streak to five games. The Lakers are first in the GLIAC with a 5-0 record, 10-4 overall. The Lakers will travel to Detroit, Mich. to take on Wayne State on Friday, April 15.
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Vera and
Vasileia Griva claimed a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles. The sister pair are 5-0 in the conference in doubles action.
Taylor Barrett and
Estefania Hernandez improved to 5-0 in doubles in conference play as a pair after tallying a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles. On the singles side,
Marija Leko claimed a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.
Vasileia Griva improved to 5-0 in GLIAC singles matches after a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
