DETROIT - The Grand Valley State women's tennis team dropped at 5-2 decision at Wayne State Friday (April 15) in Detroit, Michigan. The Lakers fall to 10-5 overall, 5-1 in conference play. The Lakers will travel to Midland tomorrow for a conference matchup against Northwood.
Wayne State swept doubles to claim the doubles point. On the singles side,
Taylor Barrett claimed a 7-5, 2-6, 10-4 win at No. 5 singles.
Marily Canellopoulos tallied a 7-5, 4-6, 10-6 win at No. 6 singles.
Vera Griva lost 1-6, 2-6 at No. 1 singles, and
Marija Leko fell 6-7, 2-6 at No. 2 singles.
Vasileia Griva dropped a 3-6, 0-6 decision at No. 3 singles and
Estefania Hernandez lost a 6-7, 3-6 decision at No. 4 singles.
