PARK FOREST, Ill. - The Grand Valley State men's tennis team downed Purdue Northwest 7-0 on the road at Park Forest Tennis Club in Park Forest, Illinois. The Lakers improved to 3-1 in GLIAC play, 11-3 overall.
GVSU swept doubles play to claim the doubles point.
Josep Canyadell and
Tomas Oliveira claimed a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles.
Freddy Cossio and
Sebastian Arce claimed a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles, while
Martin Matov and
Sean Miller tallied a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles. On the singles side,
Josep Canyadell claimed a straight set 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles.
Sebastian Arce tallied a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles. Arce is now 7-2 in singles dual matches on the season.
Sean Miller claimed a hard fought 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 three set win at No. 3 singles, while
Freddy Cossio tallied a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.
Jack Dausman (No. 5 singles) and
Ignasi Garros (No. 6 singles) each added a 6-2, 6-1 win.
GVSU will host Davenport tomorrow (April 2) for senior day at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club at 5:00 PM.
