GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Valley State women's tennis team defeated Lake Superior State Friday (March 25) in the GLIAC home opener. The Lakers move to 7-4 overall, 2-0 in GLIAC action and will host Michigan Tech Sunday morning at 9:00 am at Grand Rapids Racquet and Fitness.

GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Vera and Vasileia Griva claimed a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles. Taylor Barrett and Estefania Hernandez tallied a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles. On the singles side, Vasileia Griva claimed a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles. Taylor Barrett earned a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles, while Estefania Hernandez tallied a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles.
