GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Valley State men's tennis team defeated Lake Superior State in their GLIAC home opener 4-0 on Friday (March 25) at Premier Athletic & Tennis Club. GVSU improved to 7-4 overall, 1-1 in GLIAC play.
GVSU clinched the doubles point with wins at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 doubles.
Josep Canyadell and
Tomas Oliveira claimed a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles.
Sebastian Arce and
Freddy Cossio tallied a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles, while
Martin Matov and
Sean Miller added a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles. On the singles side,
Josep Canyadell claimed a 6-1, 6-4 win at No.1 singles.
Sebastian Arce talllied a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles, while Tomas Oliviera earned a 6-3, 6-1 straight set win at No. 3 singles.Â
The Lakers will host Michigan Tech on Sunday (March 27) at 9:00 am at Grand Rapids Racquet and Fitness.Â
