The Grand Valley State baseball team dropped at 2-1 decision against Augustana Friday (March 11) at Lake Myrtle Sports Park in Auburndale, Florida.
Before the game, GVSU and Augustana resumed Monday night's game that was called off by rain in the bottom of the eighth inning with the score tied at 4-4. Augustana had a runner on third with no outs when the game was resumed. On the first pitch, Augustana scored the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly. They would hang on to take that game by a score of 5-4.
Nick Shaw suffered the loss.
The game was scoreless after four innings with
Collin Bradley striking out five batters and allowing just two hits. Augustana took a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning with a bases loaded hit-by-pitch. Augustana would take a 2-0 lead in the seventh inning off an RBI single to right field. In the bottom of the ninth,
Justin Mansager got the Lakers on the board with a two out RBI single up the middle to score
Nathan Logan.
Colin Bradley turned in a solid outing tossing 5.0 innings pitched, allowing one run off four hits, while striking out six hitters.
Ben Thomas pitched 4.0 relief innings allowing one run on hits and one strikeout.

The Lakers will play Notre Dame College Saturday (March 12) at 2:00 PM at Henley Field in Lakeland, Florida.
