The No. 10 Grand Valley State women's lacrosse team improved to 6-1 on the season today as they claimed a 14-4 non-league win over Findlay in the 2022 home opener. GVSU will be back in action at home on Sunday at noon as they match up with the Tiffin Dragons. 

The Lakers and Oilers battled the first period with the Lakers holding a 5-4 advantage after 15 minutes of action. Findlay did not score after the four first period goals and GVSU tallied three goals in the second quarter to take an 8-4 lead at the half. GVSU added three goals in both the third and fourth periods for the final margin of 14-4.

Sydney Stone led the Lakers with four goals, while Maddy Champagne, Molly Bursinger, Olivia Esposito and Maggie Hammer each netted a pair of goals. Sophie Conroy and Halle Nedohin each tallied a goal. Audrey Maloney picked up the win, while Kaylyn Cater held the Oilers off the board in 30 minutes of action.
