The Grand Valley State men's tennis team defeated regional foe Hillsdale College Saturday (Feb. 12) on the road. The Lakers improve to 4-1 on the season.
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 doubles.
Josep Canyadell and
Sebastian Arce claimed a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles.
Martin Matov and
Sean Miller tallied a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles.
Freddy Cossio and
Tomas Oliveira chipped in a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
On the singles side,
Josep Canyadell claimed a 6-2, 6-4 straight set win at No. 1 singles.
Sean Miller tallied a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
Tomas Oliveira; 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 and
Martin Matov; 6-7, 7-5, 11-9 earned hard fought three-set wins from No. 3 and No. 4 singles.
Freddy Cossio claimed a 6-3, 6-0 win from No. 5 singles, while
Jack Dausman chipped in a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
The Lakers are back on the hard courts Saturday, February 19 at 10:00 AM as they host Walsh at MVP Athletic Club on Crahen Avenue.
