ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Grand Valley State women's volleyball team took on Wayne State tonight in the last weekend of the regular season. The Warriors jumped out and took the first two sets, before the Lakers responded to take set three, but the Warriors proved to be too much as they took the match in four sets.

The Warriors dominated set one from early on, taking an early 7-6 lead and cruising the remainder of the way, winning 25-15. Wayne again got up early, opening set two up 7-1, but the Lakers were able to fight back to within three at 15-12, but that was as close as they would get, falling 25-20. It was another quick start for the Warriors in set three, going up 6-1 this time, but this time the Lakers were able to claw back and take the lead at 8-7. After Wayne went up 21-17, the Lakers ended the set on an 8-2, winning 25-23. Set four was a battle throughout, with both teams trading points, but Wayne State was able to close on a 4-2 run, and take set four 25-20.

Kendall Stover had a strong game, recording 18 kills on a .406 hitting percentage. Jordyn Gates tallied 11 kills and 24 assists, while Rachel Jacquay handed out 18 assists.
