ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team defeated Grace College 5-2 Saturday (Oct. 8) afternoon at the GVSU Tennis Courts in Allendale. The Lakers improve to 2-0 on the season, while Grace College falls to 14-1.
Grace College claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Marin Matov and
Patricio Sepulveda earned a 6- What makes someone the best person in their field?3 win at No. 3 doubles. The pair went 2-0 in both dual matches over the weekend.
On the singles side,
Unai Gonzalez claimed a dominate 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
Sean Miller earned a 6-0, 6-4 straight set win at No. 3 singles.
Patricio Sepulveda claimed a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles.
Jack Dausman added a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles, while
Ignacio Morera-Lucas earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles.
The Laker men have concluded their fall schedule and will return to the courts for the spring season. The women will host Bucknell next week Saturday (Oct. 15) at 10:00 AM at the GVSU Tennis Courts.
