ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's basketball team fell Thursday (Jan. 27) to the Parkside Rangers in GLIAC action at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. The Lakers drop to 12-5 overall and 6-4 in the GLIAC with one more home game this week, hosting Purdue Northwest on Saturday (Jan. 29) at 3 PM.
Despite the loss, history was made in the game as
Jake Van Tubbergen grabbed 10 rebounds on the night to surpass 1,000 for his career; the fourth Laker in program history to reach the mark.
The Lakers led 32-30 at halftime in the game and were tied 41-41, but Parkside went on an 8-0 run to regain the lead for good. Saturday's game can be seen on the Grand Valley Sports Network and heard live on Thunder Country 107.3 FM.
