GVSU Women's Tennis Claims 4-0 Win Over Purdue Northwest In GLIAC Tournament

Box Score #3-seeded Grand Valley State (13-4) dominated Purdue Northwest in quarterfinal action at the 2021 GLIAC Tournament, taking down the Pride by a 4-0 score. The Lakers dropped just five games in four matches. GVSU will square off against #2-seeded Wayne State in semifinal action at the Midland Tennis Center. First serve is set for 2:30 p.m.
 
The Lakers opened the match winning the doubles point in quick fashion. Marija Leko and Marily Canellopoulos claimed a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while Vera Griva and Taylor Barrett notched a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
 
GVSU made easy work of Purdue Northwest in singles action. Vasileia Griva won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles, followed by Liv Hanover's 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles. Olivia Huong closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
