ALLENDALE, Mich. -Â Â The Grand Valley State men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 23. The women's race will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the men at 11:45 a.m.

The Laker men and women have been ranked first in the region all season long. The men have proven their strength as a team this season finishing first at the Spartan Invitational, beating out second place Michigan State.
Isaac Harding was named USTFCCCA Athlete of Week on Oct. 4 after finishing first at the Live in Lou Classic with a personal-best time of 23:16.7.
Tanner Chada earned GLIAC Athlete of Week finishing second at the Spartan Invitational with a time of 24:20.6. The Laker men are looking to win their 19th consecutive GLIAC Championships.Â

The women's team has also had great success finishing first at the Knight Invite and the Lewis Crossover. The women's team finished second at the Spartan Invitational, but was first amongst division II schools. Â
Klaudia O'Malley was named USTFCCCA Athlete of the Week on Oct. 11 after finishing first at the Lewis Crossover with a time of 21:54.1.
Hannah Becker earned GLIAC Athlete of the Week honors twice this season finishing sixth at the Spartan Invitational with a time of 22:06.4. The Laker women are looking to win their 20th consecutive GLIAC Championships.
