INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The No. 19 Grand Valley State women's lacrosse team fell in their season opener to No. 9 Indianapolis, 14-11, Friday (Feb. 28) afternoon on the road.

Abbi O'Neal began the day's scoring with a goal in the second minute of game play. O'Neal and
Annie Yost led the team with three goals each, followed by two goals and an assist from junior
Sophie Conroy.
The Lakers jumped ahead to a 3-2 lead with 18:54 on the clock in the first half and reclaimed a 5-4 lead at 14:44 for their final lead of the game. Indianapolis would score four unanswered goals to enter the half on top, 8-5. O'Neal found the back of the net at the start of the second half to cut the Greyhound lead to two. Audrey Maloney recorded six saves in the goal.
The Lakers continue road action against GLVC opponents with games at McKendree (March 1), Lindenwood (March 4) and Maryville (March 5) before taking a week-long hiatus to open home play on March 13 against Tiffin.
