The Grand Valley State women's Tennis team claimed a 4-1 victory over Illinois-Springfield Saturday evening at the Premier Athletic & Tennis Club. The Lakers improve to 13-3 on the year and will host Walsh at 8 a.m. at Premier Athletic & Tennis Club Sunday (Feb. 16). 

The Lakers claimed the doubles point after winning all three matches. The #1 doubles team of Vera Griva/Taylor Barrett claimed a 6-3 win, followed by Marily Canellopoulos/Marija Leko 6-2 win at #2 doubles. Liv Hanover/Olivia Huang claimed a 6-0 win at #3 doubles. 

Griva (6-2, 6-2), Leko (6-4, 6-0) and Canellopoulos (6-2, 6-4) claimed wins in singles action at the #1, #3 and #4 slots. Barrett dropped a tough 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 decision at #2 singles, while five and six singles went unfinished.
