The Grand Valley State men's tennis team fell to Wayne State, 4-1, in the NCAA Midwest Region 2 Tournament on Saturday, May 11, at the Peachtree Tennis Club in Clinton Twp., Mich. The Lakers end their season with an overall record of 16-9.

GVSU scored the match's first point after they won in doubles from the No. 2 and No. 3 pairings.
Jack Geissler and
DJ Colantone captured a 6-4 victory from the No. 2 spot, while the duo of
Nicholas Urban and
Jack Dausman tallied a 6-4 win from No. 3 doubles.

The Lakers were unable to hold their lead as Wayne State scored four straight points to win the match. Urban fell 6-1, 6-3, from No. 5 singles, while
Eric Zwemer was defeated 6-1, 6-2 from the No 6 position. WSU scored its final two points after Geissler fell in a tough three-set match 1-6, 6-4, 2-6, from the No. 2 spot, while Dausman was defeated 7-5, 6-2, at No. 3 singles.
