Grand Valley State claimed a twinbill sweep over Seton Hill Monday (Mar. 4) afternoon in Kissimmee, Florida, winning game one 11-7 and taking the nightcap 2-0. GVSU improves to 4-4 overall and 3-1 on its Florida trip, while Seton Hill falls to 4-3. The Lakers will play Minnesota Crookston Tuesday at 12 noon.
Game 1
Seton Hill put three on the board in the bottom of the third on three hits, the key hit being a 2-run double. The Lakers left runners on base through the first four innings, but broke through with six runs on five hits and two Seton Hill errors in the top of the fifth. DH

Joe Laudont was hit by a pitch to lead off the sixth and scored on a Berry triple to center. The Lakers put the game out of reach in the top of the seventh with four runs on four hits. Laudont drove home one run with a double, while

Michael Morelli picked up the win, yielding three runs on six hits. Berry drove in three runs on two hits, while Mandeville and Catapano each drove in a pair. Laudont tallied two hits and drove in a one.

Parker Murdie opened the bottom of the first with a single to left and advanced to second a single off the bat of CF
Chase Carpenter. DH
Joe Laudont flied out to right, but Murdie advanced to third. RF

Ryan Blake-Jones scored Murdie on a fielders choice. GVSU added a solo run in the bottom of the fifth on just one hit. Carpenter doubled to right with one out and moved to third on a Laudont groundout. Carpenter then scored on a balk to up the Laker lead to 2-0.
Junior LHP
Cade Cintorino (1-1) recorded the complete-game, shutout win for the Lakers on the hill. He yielded just four hits and struckout seven with just two walks. Cintorino worked out of trouble when the leadoff batter singled and reached third in the third, but two strikeouts and a pop out left the runner at third.
