MIDLAND, Mich. – Grand Valley State middle blocker
Jaeli Primus has been named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division Player of the Week, per a release from the league office on Monday. GVSU defeated Davenport by a score of 3-1 in their lone match this weekend which was the fourth-straight win for the streaking Lakers.
Primus totaled a career-high 16 kills with an impressive .640 attack percentage while adding seven blocks to her league-leading total on Saturday. The Hudsonville, Mich. native currently has 104 total blocks (1.18 per set) which is 13 more than the next highest total in the GLIAC. As a team, the Lakers have led the GLIAC in total blocks for a majority of the season with Primus accounting for over half of GVSU's total.
The Lakers will return home for the first time since Oct. 12 this weekend, as they take on Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday (Nov. 8) and Purdue Northwest on Saturday (Nov. 9).
