The Grand Valley State women's tennis team hosts their final two home matches of the season this weekend. The Lakers will host Michigan Tech on Saturday (Oct. 12) at 1:30 p.m. at Grand Rapids Racquet and Fitness and Lake Superior State on Sunday (Oct. 13) at 10:30 a.m. at the Premier Athletic and Tennis Club in Grand Rapids, Mich.
GVSU boasts an undefeated conference and overall record of five wins and no losses. Junior
Liv Hanover and sophomore
Vera Griva lead the Lakers in singles match play with seven wins and two losses. The team has a combined singles record of 31-14.
In doubles play, the sophomore duo of
Marily Canellopoulos and Griva leads the team with six wins and two losses to add to the Lakers' combined doubles record of 17-7.
The Lakers will hit the road for their final regular season weekend (Oct. 19-20) at Wayne State and Ashland before competing in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship tournament on Oct. 25-27 in Midland, Mich.
