The Grand Valley State men's and women's track & field teams are set to host the GVSU Lints Alumni Meet on Saturday (Jan.19) at the Kelly Family Sports Center at 1 p.m. as the teams look to have strong performances as they continue the 2019 indoor season. 
 
Heading into Saturday's meet, the Lakers have a combined 35 top-25 NCAA Division II times/marks, while 16 of those rank in the top-10 in the country.
 
During the Lakers' last meet, which was the GVSU Bob Eubanks Open, the teams saw a combined 10 NCAA Division II provisional marks and seven first place finishes.
 
On the men's side, Thomas Capers (400m), Hunter Harding (weight throw) and Justin Scavarda (shot put, weight throw) all hit qualifying marks. Scavarda finished first in the shot put, while Harding placed first in the weight throw. Additionally, Jordan Johnson also finished first in the 200m dash.
 
On the women's side, Alexis Duncan (long jump), Judith Essemiah (weight throw), Angelica Floyd (long jump), Bobbie Goodwin (weight throw) and Nicole Sreenan (200m, 400m) all hit provisional marks. The Lakers also saw first place finishes from Tiara Wiggins in the 60m hurdles, Goodwin in the weight throw and Sreenan in the 200m and 400m dashes. Also, Sreenan and Duncan were selected as the GLIAC's Women's Track and Field Athletes of Week as well.
