The Grand Valley State baseball team picked up a 5-2 victory over GLVC foe Lewis on Friday (March 16) in Romeoville, Ill. The Lakers, 9-7 overall, will square off the Flyers in a single 9-inning game on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. (ET) Sunday's doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. (ET).
The Lakers got on the board first with three runs on four hits and a Lewis error in the top of the first. LF
Zach Berry doubled down the right field line with one out and after a groundout 1B

Lewis scored an unearned run in the bottom of the first and the Flyers pulled to within one (3-2) with a run in the bottom of the fourth on two hits. However, the Lakers answered with two runs on three hits in the top of the fifth. Berry reached on a single and RF
Jacob Gleason doubled for the second time in the game. Blake-Jones then delivered a one out single to center to plate Berry and Gleason to give the Lakers a 5-2 lead.
Lewis did not get a hit after the fourth inning and managed just two base runners on a walk and a hit batter.
Ryan Arnold pitched a gem and improved to 4-0 on the year. Arnold allowed just two runs, one of which was earned, on five hits with four strikeouts.
Kyle Lawson picked up his fourth save of the year with a hitless ninth. Four Lakers supplied two hits for the offense, highlighted by Blake-Jones' 2-flor-5 outing with three RBIs. Berry tallied two hits and scored two runs, while Gleason added two doubles and a run scored. SS
